Who We Are
Fortissimo Academy of Music provides quality music lessons for students of all ages. It is our desire for the students to enjoy music to the fullest and want to share their gift with others. We offer three types of lessons to fit the student’s lifestyle and schedule.

- Private Studio Piano Lessons, Guitar Lessons, Voice Lessons
- Semi-Private Studio Piano Lessons, Guitar Lessons, Voice Lessons
We offer lessons dedicated and personalized for the student. For those that are comfortable in a studio setting, we provide private, individual piano lessons, guitar lessons, and voice lessons as well as semi-private studio lessons. With your busy schedule in mind, we offer lessons in your home to save you time, gas, and the stress of commuting to your lessons while allowing the student to learn in a comfortable environment. Currently we service Rochester, Rochester Hills, Troy, Oakland Township.

Many younger students are often pressured to learn music because it is good for them. However, when someone is heavily pressured into something, reactance often occurs especially in children. Our philosophy is to have the students develop a desire and passion for music for themselves. Often it starts with piano but will expand to other areas of interest. Through music lessons, students have shown an increase in interests and motivation in schoolwork, extracurricular activities and a desire to better themselves.
Teaching Philosophy
Learning music correctly is something that is very important because it is the foundation in which you build on. Like they say, fixing a bad habit is always harder than learning something new. On the contrary, a bad habit can be always fixed, if done the correct way.
Fortissimo Academy believes enjoyment is one of the most important factors when taking music lessons. Without it, one will never be motivated to want to grow in music. When taking lessons, challenges commonly arise and many students often get discouraged. For example, one of the main challenges is the ability to sight-read. This is in fact one of the top reasons why students often get dispirited from music lessons whether they are children or adults. Once you learn how to read music, students will often try to learn new songs all by themselves. Isn’t that the main goal for many? To play musical pieces all on their own whether it be popular or classical.
Nevertheless, similar to a wonderful recipe it’s a combination of “ingredients” that makes it great. Since each individual student is different, lessons are all tailored based on their strengths, weaknesses, and interests. We will choose, combine or invent materials and approaches that work best for the student.
Remember, music is supposed to be fun but also requires effort from both teacher and student.
